Interesting site design, I generally like left hand navigation, but it works well here on the RHS.
superb site, glad to discover you. looking forward to coming back, need more time to see everything. back on the Norton trail myself after going off on many tangents. cant wait to be on a Norton. Regards johnnyjota
I enjoyed your site. This is the first time I've visited it and I must say I was surprised to see a picture of Dave and I at the Montana state line. Dave must have sent it to you. He certainly did a good job of parking his Norton so that my old BMW and sidecar are completely hidden from view. Herb Mann, Petaluma, CA
Herb, Send me a photo of your BMW and I will post it for you. Howz the Norton Coming along. send photos of that too, Take care- Jerry

great site, full of info! Would anyone know of how to verify the numbers on a Gus Kuhn norton.
Thanks for the help on the Norton colours (That's how we spell it in Canada) Just a note, four to six more weeks of freezing weather add or subtract one so all the salt is off the roads and presto back on the Norton its no wonder our bikes last forever...

You have a very good-looking Norton! Especially the seat suit your Norton very well. Where can I buy a seat like this? I have a yellow Norton Roadster 750 bought in 1973 as a new one. I live in Denmark. Please send a word about the seat to: steenmalling@post.tele.dk

As one of the original design team on the Commando, remaining with the company until the finish, I congratulate you on your presentation and content plus some nice photographs of some well loved machinery. I am sure to visit again when I want a nostalgia fix.
Thank You!
I like this site very much, it is the best which I have found on the computer. I now know some of your antics with the police!! If I had known at the time I do not know what I would have done,-probably gone spare mad!! Anyway congratulations on the site. Best wishes, Father.
G'Day an what a Great Site you have.Its good to see other Norton owners.I own a 1970 Roadster/combat my self,also have a 1968 650 Spitefire.I also a have some parts for sale:old victor 440 engine/frame&misc.,650 BSA engine,frame,misc. E-mail shamansade@netscape.net
I own a 1972 combat, runs well, all origanal.Set valves to spec but now hear valve noise over exaust.Well do not want piston and valve to meet so the noise is O.K.I also have 1967 triump bonneville the hands start to numb after 50 miles so my favort is the commando,at least 100 miles before my hands go numb. Also restoring a 1966 650 BSA.
hi again little note about keeping exaust pipies like new before installing take paint that resist heat up to 1500 degree's,like barbaque paint.pour into pipe then pour out do this 9 times, each time letting it dry.1000 miles pipes still crome.

Today in Florida running lights are a must. But the magnet is getting weak so two friends and myself each tried a remedy one tried with a 22watt haogen, plenty of light but no high beam just low,the next friend said why not increase the park light. So we found that a 6watt halogen was perfet (the police finaly did not stop us.)So taking the pulp out drilling out the glue ,cut one pole in half then solding a wire on it ana bending the other wire to go throw a tiny hole you drilled throw the center filling with epoxy then soldering the end back, makes for a great day time run ning light. Not getting stopped any more on my 72 combat.
from Houston Texas, very nice page indeed! My dad is rebuilding a 500 cc Triumph Daytona in our garage and im shoping for a Norton 750 Commanda. They are very rare araound here so ill be lucky if I find one for under 2,000. 21 and just got my motorcycle license.
Awesome site! First time here and I love the layout and "loads" of information. Keep up the good work! -John
Hi Jerry - John just hooked me up with you site. This is great! I still need to check most of it out just just wanted to thank you for developing this great site. I love your bike!
nice site. nice bikes. Fastback LR owner sited in norway
Great website dedicated to the one of the coolest bikes of all time!
Hi I have enjoyed visiting your site I have a 69 750 roadster with an 850 crank that I have recently brought out of moth balls its been collecting dust since 1987 I orginally purchased this bike in 1981 for 1200cdn. I am not sure why it took me so long to get it up and running but now that it is I can't get enough. There is one difference that I have always noticed on this bike than any others I have looked at is the location of the contact breaker arrangement.Mine is not on the right front side of the timing cover but on the left side and at the back have you ever seen this set up? Anyway thanks for the look an excellent site I will be back Roger.
I've got a 1972 750cc commando w/combat engine It needs some work. Engine rebuilt runs great but not finished. If anyone reads this and could either tell me what is might be worth or give me an offer I might be inclined to sell it. My father bought it right out of the factory in 1971.
my e-mail address is nathannennig@hotmail.com
I think i am in love.... Been lloking at getting an old Guzzi, but damn, these commandos are really nice to look at. Great site, not much out there ya know. if harley sound like: patatoe, patatoe, patateo and Guzzi sounds like: canoli, canoli, canoli what do Nortons sound like? crumpet, crumpet, crumpet
i think you have a great site
nice to see the old beasts again, ,I was a teenager in the 70's and, several ex police 850's which I rebuilt as cafe racers. Also had a Trident. Now I'm in the Cayman Islands with no where to ride , just have a NX650 for a hack. Great site!!!
Very much enjoyed the visit,so much so that I'm going to restore another Commando when I finish the current one.
What a great Web Page. Nortons are absolutely beautiful. I knew a guy who had one in Germany when I was stationed there from 85-88. That bike I believe was a 850 Commando. All I know was is that bike gave my suped-up Suzuki GS1150 ESE.....a run for its money!!!! That bike was greased lightning....and gorgeous. Keep up the good work.
I like your site very much and I hope I could buy a Norton Commando someday. Ville from Finland
Greetings from the UK.Most excellent site for the finest bike I ever rode...my 850MK 2A..HOL 799 N.Black/gold and spotless!Sold her 26 years ago to get married. Is she still running I wonder?Still riding, well, cant help it can we!No bike before or since could corner like the commando even with skinny Avon Roadrunners..remember those?Great site and well done.
If anybody knows the whereabouts of 1975 850 Commando HLM35N please let me know at the above address - Surely she must still be out there ? ta Rog
Great site Jerry; nice recent updates. I would like to post in the forum, but could not get registration to work. Any ideas? sharris@sanjuan.edu
Great site. Looking at all those pictures from sunny California makes me real envious. Here in Norway you need a lot of determination (and clothes) to go riding right now. BTW - the bike you are wondering about in the BSA-03 collage is not a Rudge but a Brough Superior. I would guess a 1935-36 model SS 100.
Very interesting indeed - I have exactly the same type myself. - 80% anyway. I'm hunting for direction lights and a couple of other things (speedometer in km/h amongst other for norwegian conditions). You have a very attractive object - good picture (I take it as wallpaper). best regards jan g
Very Impressive web site for the Norton Fans :)
il y a les photos, la couleur, et en plus le son. bientot le vent de la vitesse. bravo parfait.
Dear Jeremy. Just having a quick look at your site which I still think is one of, or ifnot the best of its type which ihave visited -- well done Cheers.
Hey guys! Happy new year. Great web site! Doris I placed a small order with Joe today and gave him my new address down in the Big Apple. I brought the commando with me but put the P11 upstate. Speaking of P11's I did not see any on your site, I guess I better do something about that. My email is jon.knoop@verizonmail.com......best reguards...Jon
Hi I toured Australia on a Silver Norton Commando Mk3 In 1976 and again in 1982/3 the 2 trips covered 33,000 miles. Is this of any interest to you? Thanks Roy
Hi Roy, Send me some photos and your story, so I can publish it!
Have been viewing your web site for over a year and am proud to announce (Yippeee!) I can now visit as the proud owner of a 1975 Norton Interstate!!!!! Can't wait to pick this little girl up and take her home----Lord please let the weather break and warmup just a bit! Need to find out what the Norton color codes are for that year---always was impressed with how great lookin' your bikes are! JD
Really nice machine, and great site. Many thanks.
Excellent site and technical information and articles. Beautiful bikes and photos. Thanks for the great resource. A buddy of mine had a 73 Commando when I was in high school back in Minnesota during the mid 70's. He was kind enough to let me borrow it occassion and have lusted for one ever since. Almost 30 years later, I found the bike of my dreams in San Francisco at Darwin Motors. A 75 Roadster with only 5K miles on it. The only change we made was to put reverse cone pipes on her due to alot of corrision on the original black caps. Had it shipped to my home here in NC...and she runs like the dream that only the Commando can offer. Thanks again for this great website and community.
great site, just love your roadster with that corbin seat ,regards stu fastback rider NEW ZEALAND.
Big Big Jerr!!!
swell couple of bikes you have.only hope when i finish my 73commando it looksand runs aswell.i have been 135 mph on the bike i recently purchased back in 1982-3.keep on rockin
A great site, well done. My Commando is still in England, but this had made me want to bring it over to the US for the summer.
Great site. I am about to begin a "journey" on a Commando that I should have started 27 years ago! Can't wait!!!!
it's a pleasure to look at your norton 850. - i have a n. project myself. like yours, but red ('73). good to get some inspiration. jangg - norway

Aloha from Hawaii... proud owner of a '72 Commando here-great site!
Great site glad I found it,I'm in the middle of rebuilding my 850MK3,(for the 3rd time,77000 miles) I lost the timing side main bearing a year ago. Simi Valley CA 74 T150v trident,75 850 Commando,76BMW R90s,77 Ducati 900 GTS,2002 Triumph Sprint ST.
Bill, I bought an ST about 3 weeks ago. Thats how come this site is not getting updated lately. What a great bike! Jerry
Nicely done
Good to see some of the old iron still shaking the ground. We have a pair of N 15 CSR cafe racers here in Gibsons landing Canada. Hope to see ya on the road down under in a year.
Great site, lot's of good info... Thanks! :)
I am glad I found this site and what a site. Bravo! Just finishing a 1979 T-140D. The owner hated the alloy wheels and two into one exhaust pipes. Now sports spoked wheels and two exhaust pipes with cigar mufflers late 60's style. Weather here this past week end has been best described as Monsoon Weather! Oh well, better days ahead. Ciao, bella moto.
